Johanna Gibson
Throughout my career journey, I have witnessed firsthand the impact that a supportive counselor can have on a person’s life guiding them through personal difficulties, academic struggles, and career decision-making processes. Inspired by these years of experiences, I pursued additional training in counseling education from the University of Central Oklahoma in the areas of: Psychology of Aging, Family Dynamics, Codependency, Multicultural Counseling, and Counseling Children and Adolescents. I am currently an LPC candidate licensed by the State of Oklahoma.
As a LPC-Candidate at Grace River Christian Counseling in Norman, Oklahoma. I welcome working with individuals ages 5 and up. Sessions are 50 minutes long and are scheduled with varying frequency based on the needs of the client.
During my time as an educator, parent, spouse, and as a person of deep faith, I have come to recognize that individuals often face challenges in life where they could benefit from a safe and non-judgmental space. Each session is an opportunity for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We will turn to prayer, scripture, and effective therapeutic modalities to help the client find a place of peace and healing that is suited for each individual. Each session will include time to work through personal challenges while having an attentive and empathetic ear. We will use practical tools for overcoming obstacles in areas of concern. My passion for helping people in their journey was something that I have always enjoyed and why I have chosen to pursue work in this field.
